Boy Boy and Destiny

Way out west, on the high desert plains, at Dog Bar Ranch, there is a dog named BoyBoy.
He is a foundling.
The following is a brief story of how this young Border Collie's ancestry came face to face with his destiny, herding sheep.

"Wow, I like it here at Dog Bar. I can have all the exercise I want, but darn, these Borzoi sure are pesky devils."
"Oh well, if you can't out maneuver them, maybe you can out run them."
"And then again, maybe not."

"OK, maybe it's time to try something a little different. I'm a Border Collie right?
Why don't I try a little sheep herding. After dealing with those Borzoi, how hard could sheep herding be? I mean, sheep are sort of soft and fluffy, no horns, and they don't bite. Right? They don't bite, do they?"
(BoyBoy - Cool and collected while "On Deck" at the sheep ranch.)
"Wow Mom, those sheep look pretty big. Tell you what, you herd them for a while. I'll just watch for a second to see how you do it, and then I'll take over."
"And watch out for the dark one in the back. He looks a little mean to me."
(BoyBoy meets his first sheep.)
"You know Mom. I'm not too sure about those sheep. All bunched up like that, they look kind of spooky. Why don't I just herd this other Border Collie for a while. I've had a lot of practice chasing dogs you know."
"How am I doing Dad?"
(BoyBoy checks the bleachers for crowd approval.)
"I don't know Mom. This sheep herding gig might not have been such a good idea. Tell you what, let's go home and eat some Dog Bars."
(BoyBoy - A tired pup after a hard day on the range.)
